This session will examine the intersection of smart cities and smart tourism and how it will change the tourism experience. How can a smart city become a smart tourism destination? In the transition to smart tourism, what will be the effects on wellness tourism development? How can smart tourism and wellness tourism development counteract the effects of ‘over-tourism’? What have cities done to encourage wellness experiences for both residents and visitors, thereby increasing happiness? How can cities increase innovation and technological tools and improve tourism competitiveness? How can a city be future-ready?
